    How to name a blog?

    I recently retired after four and a half decades invested in pastoral, educational, administrative and charitable endeavors. Entering this new phase of life, I thought I should start a blog to share my depth of wisdom garnered over the years. I quickly realized that any blog readers would soon see that the expanse of my wisdom was probably more muddy than deep. I persisted with the idea, as I saw in it a way to keep learning and growing, perhaps writing some words that may be useful to some people. Hence this blog.

    I lost a good friend yesterday. Well, I did not really lose him, but we are now separated between worlds, and I will not see him again until after I die. Ken Davis is a man I have known for over 2 decades. We did life together.

    There is a great chapter in the Gospel of John (John 9) that reads like a dramatic production. You could get several people to read the parts, reading through the chapter for a great theatrical experience of the story. The more animated the readers, the better.

    In the first part of this blog,I looked at John 9 and the incredible perspective that Jesus expressed when he stated that the man born blind was not experiencing retribution for his own or his parents’ sins. The disciples assumed his suffering was punishment.
