Forever the Word

The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God shall stand forever.

There is a great chapter in the Gospel of John (John 9) that reads like a dramatic production. You could get several people to read the parts, reading through the chapter for a great theatrical experience of the story. The more animated the readers, the better.

Every so often while reading Scripture I hit a verse that causes a brain overload. Like the statement in Luke 2:52 "And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man". A strange statement indeed.

The Exalted Word of God

What's in a name? For contemporary Canadian culture probably not all that much.  Many families name their children by looking for an unusual or nice-sounding name, with little thought to a specific hidden meaning in the chosen appellative.  Business names may be a bit more significant.  Market research is often done when choosing business names to ensure that the resulting identifier is acceptable to the majority of people whom the firm may serve.

How to name a blog?

I recently retired after four and a half decades invested in pastoral, educational, administrative and charitable endeavors. Entering this new phase of life, I thought I should start a blog to share my depth of wisdom garnered over the years. I quickly realized that any blog readers would soon see that the expanse of my wisdom was probably more muddy than deep. I persisted with the idea, as I saw in it a way to keep learning and growing, perhaps writing some words that may be useful to some people. Hence this blog.
